This collaboration marks a significant step forward in the distribution of Peel Away Labs' flagship product—the revolutionary Peelaways patented sheets—to both retail and institutional partners across North America.

Peelaways are a type of fitted bed sheet and mattress protector that consists of multiple layers of soft, 100% waterproof sheets that can be effortlessly removed, layer by layer. The idea for Peelaways was conceived by Maxwell Cohen, the founder and CEO of Peel Away Labs, during his college years. Observing the hassle students faced with changing or washing dirty sheets and witnessing the struggle of his grandparents in changing their fitted bed sheets, Cohen realized the need for a more convenient and hygienic bedding solution. Peelaways, which are disposable, eliminate the need for laundering, resulting in considerable time, energy, and water savings.

According to a study conducted in 2020, approximately 41.8 million Americans provided unpaid care to an adult over the age of 50, constituting nearly 17% of the U.S. adult population. Out of these caregivers, 89% cared for a relative or loved one, such as a spouse. Changing bed sheets poses several challenges, particularly for caregivers. For example, physically lifting and manoeuvring the mattress to access the sheets can be arduous.

Peelaways offer a superior alternative for various reasons: they save time and effort by eliminating the need to strip and remake the bed fully, offer a hygienic option with easy layer replacement, and cater to individuals with mobility or dexterity issues as they remove the need to lift or manipulate the mattress during sheet changes. Hospitals can significantly reduce the time spent changing bed sheets, allowing staff to devote more time to patient care. With Peelaways, one nurse can accomplish the task in less than a minute, whereas it typically takes two nurses up to 15 minutes to change a sheet while the patient remains in bed.
